A MELANGE OF THE BEST LOCAL WINES, WITH DROPS FROM FAMOUS REGIONS AROUND THE GLOBE.

OUR NOTABLE WINES

It used to be that a killer line-up of wines – by the glass and bottle – was enough to make a wine bar noteworthy. Now, it’s the bare minimum. Every bottle on our list has more than earned its right of place.

Rest assured the wines don’t play second fiddle here – they’re the star. Sure, you’re likely to find your favourite classic varietals, but here at Blue Tongue Wine Bar we will also push you to try (and enjoy) the latest organic and natural wines from some of the best and often newly uncovered regions of the world.

Prophet’s Rock Pinot Noir

Central Otago, NZ -  Rich black cherry fruit with sage and white truffle and a long, silky finish. If I can gauge anything about the capability and style of the winemaker, I’d start by trying this magnificent drop.

Whistler Grenache

Barossa Valley, SA -  Subdued, ruby-red colour. Pastille and dried herbs, cured meats and aniseed, a mix of purple berries round out a complex and mostly earthy nose. A burst of sweet raspberry and cinnamon leads the palate - it's lovely and vinous.

Little Goat Creek

Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough NZ - Fresh, fruit-driven with a clean, dry finish, New Zealand's climate is perfect for producing crisp, aromatic wines - the long summer days and cool nights provide ideal conditions which preserve purity and freshness.
